I have to say this anxiety is an emotion based out of worry or fear so far as I know.
Without getting shall we say preachy here, I wish to share a thing I teach people.
Take yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The usual state of life for a person is to be filled with regrets of the mistakes from yesterday which were brought about today whilst dealing with the might have been scenarios of tomorrow. Tomorrow meaning 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 hours etc.... in the future.
A truly vicious circle at best always caught between the gulf of what might happen, being harried by what has happened never ready to deal with what is happening.
Rather change things to approach life this way.
First, take an inventory of the mistakes that have been and make them right if you can, offer amnesty to those that need it, ask amnesty from those that you require it. Then the problems of yesterday will trouble you no more since they are done.
Second, do not listen to the worries and fears of what might happen. As for the most part statistically about 90-97% of the bad things that might happen never do. So if you refuse to accept the things that might happen in favour of the things that are happening you are left with 100% of your daily time to deal with the small amount of reality that is happening. End result much less mess ups and wipe outs ending with no regrets.
Third, refuse to return to the land of hypothesis and stay within the land of the real. Live life refuse to let your dreams and visions be buried under these false realities that threaten to bury you but never follow through.
Try this experiment. Take a pocket notebook and jot down all the fear and worries that come to mind over a month. Now keep a black marker and stroke out the things that do not happen in the day that you worried about them and at the end of the month do a calculation of that which did and that which did not happen and you will be shocked. As well you will have a hard core physical tool to say to the fears and anxieties that plague you that they are not real.
By all means if you have been prescribed meds take them unless it comes to the point that you no longer need them.
