Random Question - Am I crazy? 03-03-09

I put it on a napkin.

I have worked in a restaurant since I was 15 (20 now) When I wait on people and I take their plates and they grab the utensils off of them and place them directly on the table, that's when I think its weird. Not necessarily clean utensils on the table, but when people put their dirty utensils down and then use them again after that.

I cook I actually had some Vegan come in once and asked us to sanitize all or equipment once to make him a vegan plate We cater to everyone's dietary needs and the manager told him we would do it for him, but I wanted to tell him to get over it cuz I'm sure if he went to any other non-vegan restaurant they'd tell him to screw himself.

Wow, your place must be really high end. If anything I guess you could charge him extra for all the time and effort in the prep of his food. If anything he will def. be back since not many if any other place would do this for him...

i always place my cutlery on the napkin. im paranoid about cleanliness and cant use the utensil if it touches the table top directly or has water marks on. they also have to be perfectly in line with the edge of the napkin or it drives me nuts, and the napkin with the table edge. if they are a bit wonky i fiddle till they look straight.

im so bad i thought about carrying my own a few times. its hard to resist.

OCD is strong with in you.... but ive done all them... plate another napkin on the table... im not one to fuss over petty crap... figure if im gonna get sick from anything it will be the food

GR8, Stop eating at dirty restaurants!!! ...... I hate eating at restaurants anyway. I'm always worried about what people do to the food let alone the lack of care the staff gives to cleanliness!!!

I worked in the food industry and I would say that you have a 80% chance that the counter is actually clean. Most places are pretty good at keeping bleach on the counter wiping bucket. I definatly do not put my utensils on the table must stay on napkin or plate.
