It's funny you guys who step up and say how much a fish is worth when you know nothing bout it. He'll get the price because they are highly sought after and have been next to impossible to get back into the country. Chill out, don't get your panties in a wad. I was merely stating the value of this fish from my personal perspective...in other words, the max I would pay. Yes I pulled it out of my arse are you happy now? I know he'll get a nickel for that fish...I recently got $400.00 for a male Festae and it's far from rare but the buyer has to see the value to dish it out and I don't.

it's all about perceived value. yes, beani are rare fish, but heck who has that kind of loose change lying around anyways? not too many people i think. OF COURSE someone is going to pick this thing up eventually... but till then... that's a steep price anyway you look at things

Ok tell me this why 14 years ago did we get ours for $50 at 4". While I agree this fish is not worth the asking price the fish is now extremely rare in the hobby and he is selling it for what people will pay and I will certainly pay him $400 for it. Ours is still alive and kickin but ours does not have any red at all on him he is just straight yellow and green.
