Rare and expensive

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i see front EVERYWHERE!! but they are always really expensive, cheapest iv seen were £20 and they were an inch....although sayin that i got my lil boy 'rudd' for £10 coz he had half a tail lol therefore no one wanted him.

ooohhh and tyrannochromis....i had never even heard of them before...then i found i actually had one lol...not sure how much they r though

Fronts are cheap if you know a breeder. I know a guy with 8 - 50g breeders that are so full he can't see the back. We went to a swap and he was selling them for $8 each at 4-5" and he couldn't get any buyers. I forget if this thread is cichlids only, but has anyone mentioned L-46? Consistently $300 a piece.

Frontosa have really gone up in price, they are costing us a lot more even at trade to bring in now. Were doing 2" Burundi now for about £16

A rare african cichlid? no problem: a true blue ahli, not an ahli hap as those are very common. good luck finding one though

try and find a pundamilia azurea that is even for sale or available. if you can youll be my hero. oops not another victorian?

one of the rarest is the humble yellow lab , wild caught - they have not been exported from the lake in many years now , funny how you allways can catch people out selling tank bred as wild caught as yellow labs is one of the species they useally list ,

they are virtually never caught at the lake , and remain one of the rarest of african cichlids , this info came straight from stuart grant before he sadly passed away

cheers col

I cannot agree more we got a wild caught pair in a while back they sold very quickly. The colouration was much better on them.

But they arent cheap to bring in and arent always available we got the lions cove ones in. But the females are harder to find in the wild and cost twice as much as wild males. at trade price.
