Rare fish theory

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I always love to see your threads, Wes; they are sure to educate and entertain at the same time. I remember you were one of the first - and pretty much only! - person to bring in Indian species, and I just KNOW that if there is a way to get some red Malaysian mahseers in, you will do it. :)

I'm not big on dats, but it appears your datnoid theory has something to it.

Those dats are sweet, nice size...but the best part is knowing the region their from. Good sign of knowledge of dats.

Though I'm yet to do business with you, I always check in to your forum to see what you're up to. I know you weren't fishing for praise, but I'll give credit where credit is due. You're a true pioneer to the hobby and your contributions are innumerable and indescribable at times. Keep it up Wes I can't wait to see what you bring in next.

I am still a fan of the tors I would love to see some soro brought in. some larger ones that are starting to show some good adult red.

But one thing that I personally an highly interested in now is oddball big cats ones that will do 3'+ max size.

And if one person will ever bring in something that interests me is wes.

No huge praise just facts. I may not always have the cash to buy what wes brings in but the stuff you bring in is what I like I hate buying fish that you can go to any LFS and see every fish there. I like to odd stuff. things that not everyone know what it is.

Just curious, you ever go into rare salty fish?

when I had the store, I am somewhat informed of them...

masked angel fish tops the list, followed by clipperton angel, peppermint angel etc...

then clarion, and stuff., they're ok, not too rare in my book. I had a white asfur angel one time, ended up in my freezer, and that is why I don't like salty too much :)

can you teach me some rarer stuff?

keep up the good work wes, would love for you to bring in more small/nano fish for community and planted tank fishes. will do business with you again.

by the way the gobies are doing great. hope they breed!

they have sure made their way to Japan already, at about $200.00 each retail. but notice they all have a split tail band, almost non that I can see have a connecting tail band.
Those look like the 3-bar Indo that were brought in a couple of years ago, if you ask me. :D I guess, they just re-route them, and sell off as some other type of datnoid :D

I wish more people would appreciate the same type of fish that I like and what I do to acquire them.
I love that you have alot of interest in the different perch species. Your threads have shown me species I was unfamiliar with and while researching those it has lead me to even more species I was unaware of...and have had to add to my 'wishlist'

Everytime you bring in a new shipment there is at least one wow factor fish, even if it is not a species I have a desire to keep I still enjoy seeing and reading about new and unusual types of fish. I'm eager to see what else you find to import from China..especially in the perch department.

Hopefully you will always do well enough with your imports that you'll be able to continue to bring in these rare fish.
