nitrites are prettty much at 0
nitrates are about 60 but didn't think that was that critical
PH at 7.0 - 7.2
my Gh is always been in the upper area a Florida thing
I cycle the tank at least 1 a week, but so far twice this week.
Its a 125 gallon, has 2 ray (moto ans Hen)
5 -Blk bar sil dol, 3 clown loach, 1 gar, 2 com pleco, and 1 tig cat
Again this is just a holding tank until I get my 900 up and running.

So what need to be changed in my water conditions, mind you the otehr ray is doing well, plsu if tehre is a sensitive fish in there it would be the tig, and he is doing well also eating up a storm like the otehr ray

not a good idea to post that you own an illegal animal in your state...

you need to test ammonia.
Nitrites, need to be "0" but at .2, it is ok for a SHORT time. SHORT TIME>>>>>
Nitrates are high to me, that needs to be around 40 or less.
Do daily water changes, sounds like your tank is doing a cycle. Since its only been set up a month, even if you moved all your stuff from one tank to another, you still messed with substrate and etc... and that does affect the balance of a tank.
Also, your bio load is huge with that many fish in a 125. That could also be part of the problem.

So all I can sujest is, do daily water changes 20% to 25% ....
Condition the water when adding new water...
Seachem Stability will also help get the tank established faster. But the tank needs to do its thing..

Rays swimming at the top is and can be normal. Ive had them do it when nothign was wrong. But its also a sign that things are not right.

Hope this helps.. Its what I would do. But everyone does things different and has their own opinion.

whater changes daily,
seachem stability to help you cycle faster
cut food back some to help lower bio load
if you have other tanks, move some of your fish out and help lower the bio load in the 125.
get your other tank soon...

or you know... organizations that actually do look on here, which has been known to happen.

LOL
exactly what I was thinking! What better place to look for illegal activity reagarding this....than this website
My car club has has a website, and over the years there has been numerous times where we have discovered that a "new member" or "unknown member" turned out to be a investigator looking for something!
SOMEBODY is always watching!

As usual I didn't read the whole thread.

But let me chime in with this; Nitrates of 80 PPM is not liveable ESPECIALLY for rays. Keep your nitrates under 20 PPM or for rays I'd keep it under 10.

I cycle the tank at least 1 a week, but so far twice this week.

WTF?

Keep it coooool younglin! All under 50 works fine, maybe even higher, i dont wanna test that out. But under 10? Are you kidding me? Ive heard a saying "do what i say, but not what i do." what is your experience? I think 80 is a little high, 50 is "waterchange in schedual" , 25-50 ok, 12,5-25 preferable..

Maybe they are just stressed out? In tetra test kit 0'3 is the lowest reading, u had less, and pretty high nitrates, wich means your filters are working. Maybe a minicycle + stress is the issue. Feed when lights off, and see if they eat. I have a male motoro that get pissed off for everything i change in my tank, but he gets over it after a while.

But under 10? Are you kidding me?

No. Rays are very sensitive. If you want a stunted ray then sure, let your nitrates go past 50.
