Ive seen all sorts of diseases in my time but this is one of the fastest spreading diseases ive seen.
New ray just had for 2 days, got her in perfect condition, 5-6" w/ out tail, noticed something was wrong the following day, put ray in hos tank this afternoon w/ temp @ 83, 20 gal tank w/ oversized seeded sponge, 50% old and 50% new water, Added 4 tblespoons of salt, 5ml pimafix, will do 50% water change tomorrow and everyday after that. Will add 2 tblespoons of salt every 50% water change + 2.5 ml pimafix. I assume this is a fungus and not a bacterial infection. Any suggestions to this treatment is welcomed...

sorry about your ray. Continue keeping the water perfect and with the extra salt. Dont know what else to add, maybe some of the ray boys will step in to help with advice,

I know you need to keep the meds in the tank but, I would do water changes as often as humanly possible. It was the right thing to move it to a small quarantine tank.

Is it eating?

i have not put anyfood in the tank. And not sure i want too at least for another day so as to keep the water parameters stable...

It looks like it could be possibly heater burn..
do you have any heaters that are not protected because that could be your problem :)
good luck with your ray, I hope everything goes well.

3 guesses;

1) unclean substrate (detritus)

2) sharp substrate (silica)

3) water quality (chloramine)

It's bacterial.. do a search for disk rot or disc rot..
