the ray would slurp it down like spaggetti, might take a while but no real problem
:)
I have had rays eat knife fish, aros, juruense, tigrinus, etc etc....the more a fish costs the more a ray will enjoy eventually eating it

yup... iva had rays eat only expensive fish...ATF, frontosa trop gars etc....

theres only one way to find out whats gonna happen... your aro is the least of concern....

ive personaly seen a 11" female motoro pin down a 13" black arowana for a good 5-10 seconds before she let it go.. it was crazy to see

Agreed Rays have a nack for fine dining on only your most expensive fish-RIP Armatus,ATF, P Bass etc. I put small Bala sharks in my tank so the Ray would eat them before my ATF's - didnt work ATF for dinner Bala for desert. If they can cover, smother and suck it to death its fair game. Mine will go months without killing anything, I recently started feeding pellets in place of shrimp and he went on a rampage. I would take a ray over and oscar any day, get a large aro and he will be ok with the ray

I already got rid of 5 of my oscars I don't want to get rid of these :(

what should I do? put them all together and hope for the best?

trade someone my silver aro for a bigger one?

find someone to grow out the oscars ?

any other ideas?

put them together.... or go buy a crap tank and put your O's in it to grow out...

Expensive Characins must just make great chew toys. Dorado, Armatus, Tats, even an Albino Clown Knife all have been victims here..... Worst part is they've never actually completely eaten anything except 1 Dorado, they just usually kill it and make a complete mess of it.

 True... how true.

it is all depend on the ray and its not a common to see ray go for live fish even a feeding fish, they have a hard time catching it. Ray are bottom feeder so as long as you feed it properly, everything will be fine. I have 2 pairs, 1 pair stay with 5" clown loaches and they fight for food all the time but my ray never touch the loaches.
