it is all depend on the ray and its not a common to see ray go for live fish even a feeding fish, they have a hard time catching it. Ray are bottom feeder so as long as you feed it properly, everything will be fine. I have 2 pairs, 1 pair stay with 5" clown loaches and they fight for food all the time but my ray never touch the loaches.

thanks

that set me at ease :)

i have an oscar with my ray . my ray tries to eat everything .

i would sugest putting the oscars in a grow out tank untill they are waaaay too big to fin in the rays mouth . and even then there is good chance your rays could cause alot of damage just trying to eat the other fish.

my ray has killed a silver aro by just trying to eat it . there was a lid on the tank but the combination of the ray getting it and the aro trying to get away meant i found the aro on the floor in the morning. :( .

^ Duh!!! - Somebody photoshop PWNED on that pic!!!!

so. a final decision

what should I do? will the aro be fine? re home the oscars? put them all together?

i think its allways gonna be a risk. but .. the bigger the fish the better chance it has of not getting eaten .

pic of the oscar several weeks later.

i know the ray ( the middle sized one ) has tried to eat the oscar several times but the oscar is happy . if i thought it was a major problem i would move him to one of the other tanks.

my rays look the same size as yours and my oscars are bigger. I will think I will put them together see what happens. If something goes wrong I will figure out a new plan form there.

do you think the 11'' arowana will be fine? He is growing fast.
