Rays on a budget- My (somewhat long) story w/pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok...I'm fighting through an extreme case of laziness and dealing with 140% hunidity to tackle this sump project!

got the old one all ripped out, and the new one is being screwed together a little at a time. I did get a fan going in that room, but I still keep having to take breaks to chug cold liquids. I havn't had Tang since I was a kid...but I've had about a gallon so far today. My sweat glands are so active that I swear that is squirting out in streams...

Back at it!

So, I've been hearding some splashing around and such...I was assuming it was just because the pumps are off...I'm hurrying as fast as I can to get this back up and running...

Walked by the pool...

Somebody birthed a pup!

I think it's the little Motoro Hybrid, she looks a little deflated, and she was the one doing most of the flip[ping around...but I don't think she's been here long enough for a gestation.

I gotta get back to work! I don't even have time to see if it's a boy or girl...but I know it's in good water now...the upper tank is separated now and hasn't had anything in it for a while.

More soon!

Water tests 0/0 on Ammonia and Nitrite...and about 20 on Nitrate...WAY better than last time, so this little girl I hope isn't going to have any problems at all.

I'd like to put some plants in the upper tank. I think a little water lily would look cool, but I'm afraid of bringing in some kind of bug or something. I think Frogbit is kinda small...Hyacinth is cool...but where do I get these things that are not full of pond sickness?

pics or it didnt happen, although its a shame its just one pup

LOL..It happened. I don't want to spook her right now, and I'm too lazy.

Momma is just a little girl...this is her first pup.

I got the sump all done, I just need to go to the landscape place to get another half yard of lava rocks, and then I need to order another cubic foot of foam.
