Rays on a budget- My (somewhat long) story w/pics

As I wait...I was doing some extra mainenance and noticed that one of the pups seems to have a bad eye- clouded.... Bummer. I hope I didn't somehow hit him while I was cleaning the tank, but I don't see any sign of injury.

I was considering keeping this guy...so I'll either just keep him or give someone a great deal.

Just got back from the airport and the new girl is acclimating right now. A couple of you saw a pic of a pup, but I ended up getting a different one than that because this one is bigger...

I'll snap a couple pics, but I'm going to bed. I'll upload tomorrow, and get pics of all the pups too.

The pup with the eye issue- it appears to be a fairly fresh injury because it's all blood filled now. I hope it heals...but the cloudiness worries me.

Congrats on the new ray, I was excited to hear about you getting her so I can only imagine how excited you are. That's a shame about the pup with the eye, I hope he pulls through, I've heard of people adding some aquarium salt to their tanks to help their fish cope with parasites and infection, im not sure if this would work with rays though.

Salt can be good with rays also, but I don't know if it will help the eye. Today it looks as if there is a tear on the cornea or whatever, which is bad...so I hope I'm wrong.

Here are a couple pics I snapped last night while she was acclimating in the bag. She ate immediatey when I pout her in the tank. I put a cage over her so she wouldn't hurt the pups, but this morning she is outside of the cage and there are a couple pups inside the cage. I guess that's fine...the pups have a place to go if they get harassed.

This girl came from Mike at H20. He did a great job packing her, and she is VERY healthy. I'm excited and happy! The only thing that was misrepresented was the size. She was listed at 8"...she's gotta be at least 10"... Gotta love getting more than you expect!!

Here's a couple of the better shots I got of her in the tank. She'll be in with the pups until I get the new pool running. I'm keeping a close eye on here, but so far she doesn't seem aggressive at all towards the pups.She plays "cover up" with them though...then they go scooting away...

BRB with pup updates. just gotta clean them up a bit.

Oh man...I hear ya!

The next few weeks are set to be incredible!!! I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch, but I can say that I am not done dealing with Mike at H2O.
