Wow. Do they need live plants? I heard that they need alot of plants in the tank. Also, do they like currents?

They love moderate to high flow, as for plants you can do the setup with or without. Piranhas like sub-dued lighting so if your using strong lighting for plants the it's best to get a lot.

Or you could use driftwood, it serves two big purposes. 1 it's a good natural looking source of cover for the fish & 2 it helps keep the ph of the water low, water conditions piranhas are naturally found in the wild

Driftwood gives the water a tea color doesnt it?

I have a 950 GPH river pump made by Aqueon.

Well yeah, but they are found under those conditions naturally. If you don't like the tea color though, you can boil the driftwood before placing it in the aquarium.

Dang... Where did you get them for 4 bucks?

For rbp is better if you keep em in pack, i mean 5-6 atleast. mine is around 7-8in. I had them about 3 years since they were 2-2.5 in. I fed they krill, hakiri food stick now.

That might be a tad strong, if it's multi-directional you can make it so that the current is mainly focused up towards the surface. Which brings another good point you'll need to find some way to keep the oxygen level pretty high, p's fare better when there is a lot of dissolved oxygen in the water.

Three years isnt that bad. By then I would have gotten a bigger tank.
