Also if you feed them carotenes, the reddish- orange pigments in red shrimp and what not, that should help, it worked on my Oscar.

Yea forgot to add that, I rotate between talapia and shrimp once every week. Overfeeding is a no go!

Beef and chicken are a no go, bad for fish and water.

My shoal gets talapia once a week (whole fillets)

And I feed a handful of pellets per day, NLS is the best omega one is awesome too. Their colors and health are perfect.

Iv'e always been one to go natural with a wide variety of food choices for my P's from the very begining and never had a problem with beef or chicken , it will foul the water if left in overnight so just clean up what they dont eat after they'er done . What are the health issues from them eating beef or chicken ? Maybe there is something i don't know but i have never had a problem , mine love chicken breast when offered cut into 1" to 2" strips .

The only problem with pellets is my FX5 output nozzle creates so much current at the surface that the pellets will get pushed against a corner or up against the glass somewhere. I would like to point the nozzle down a little but I heard i need to keep the surface circulating.

Use nls sinking pellets. They fall pretty fast so current at the top should not effect them too much.

Same with me but my fish will actually fan the pellets with their tail fins and they will get loose, pretty cool actually.

And chicken/meat is generally not a good idea because of the fat content and they normally would never ever eat that in the wild. That's why we feed them fish and pellets . And there's something else about poultry that effects them too but I can't remember, maybe someone else will chime in....

My juvi rhom gets NLS .5 mm sinking pellets, 01 flakes, talapia and bloodworms.

Is NLS the rand name? I'll check and see if my LFS has some. I bought some tilipia today. Cut up a couple small chunks and put them in. No luck.. :/. They sniff it and bump into it a couple times but that's it. They seem to be snipping at each other lately too. I'm worried they will attack each other soon if they don't eat.

Thats normal with or without full stomachs, try setting temp at 74-75 and perform bi weekly water changes with Prime. Offer no food for a couple day then maybe Sunday morning of a couple chunks of talapia, they will go bonkers...
