You honestly think that an organism is half one species and half another, it could be a completely different species from either of the two other species? I'm sorry but that is just completely ignorant.
You honestly think this could be any species at all other than homo sapiens sp. "costume"?

:ROFL:Seriously? A platypus is not part one species part another, there are few similar traits to those found in other species, but that is not even close to the same thing as mermaids.

As you can read it carries traits of both land and water animal. :nilly:
There are two problems with your arguement, for one thing, it actually supports my arguement of what the probable distribution of the traits of both species would be if mermaids did exist, and platypusses have traits of multiple other animals, they aren't EXACTLY like one species in one half of their body and EXACTLY like another on the other half. No matter how many attempts you make at defending the theory of mermaids' existence, I can guarantee you that none of them will ever serve as any kind of substantial evidence, so this is a pointless arguement that you will inevitably be on the losing end of. I'm actually not sure why I'm even participating in such a rediculous arguement, but oh well, it isn't like I have anything better to do :grinno:.

This isn't an argument. It's not like we are little kids here. We can talk it through like adults. It's a debate. However my point supports my point more than it does yours! This is a debate whether not this is a video of an authentic mermaid or not. Mermaid are said to carry human and fish like characteristic not a half human half fish. I have stated that A. Due to the soft tail fin and the fast rate of the fish like human and B. new animals are being discover almost daily and that much of the ocean bottom have not been discovered that it might be possible that mermaids might exist and that this may be an authentic video. You state that this is a video of a half human half fish thing?!? however in the video you can clearly state that the thing is not half human and half fish. In the video you can clearly see that the thing doesn't carry human like features, such as two human eyes, human nose, human mouth, human fingers, human nails? But you do see human like head, arms and human like upper body?!? So if you just saw a mountain gorilla for the first time walking up right from a distance you would say that its a half human, half monkey :screwy: My point in the platypus is that there are animals out there that carry traits of different animals. From a distance it could look different from how it looks like up close. I'm not trying to prove the existence of mermaids but giving the facts of what could or could not be. I do not see you proving your point that this is a half human half fish. You say it is a hybrid? Nothing my friend :D has proved your point. :grinno:

I know it requires a step down to even post in this thread, but I feel compelled to congratulate the creator on this high-quality fake. It looks really good. Whether he built the tail himself or its CGI, it looks really good.
I don't think it looks like CGI, the "mermaid" looks too realistic for it to be CGI. He probably just put some woman in a mermaid suit and videotaped it (but I could be wrong).
