Hope they are tending the fry and you get a good hatch. Beautiful fish and nice size to keep.

Jack

Thanks. I actually got my flashlight out and shined it into some hiding spots and found my wigglers. I was worried. :D

now the breeding color is coming through :)

Late bloomers I guess. It came and went for a while and is now pretty consistent. I took your advice and am changing 15 gallons a day while there are eggs/fry in there. Seems to not bother the wigglers at all. Day 3 of wiggling now and am anxiously awaiting some free swimmers.

Ya, now the colors look like they mean business.

My eggs hatched a week ago and I still have not seen free swimmers yet. I dont remember it taking so long other times. They are still guarding though and she really has them hidden where I cant see.

It's fun to see when they are free swimming and the parents take them for a "walk" around the tank. Grabbing any that swim away and spitting them back in the group.

The fry do seem to develop slowly. Im looking forward to seeing if they 'walk' them around like you said. the only other fish I have bred have been Cuban cichlids and I always had a good number that survived and were shipped out. I hope these are no different. Ill be looking forward to updates from your end as well.

man, why is everyone elses red ceibals breeding except for mine?? i have three and one sits in breeding colors (looks just like yours in the last video) all the time but won't let the other two in and doesn't have eggs.
