And all over the world, geography teachers shed a tear...

Well, I suppose England is technically north of Antarctica, but no, no it isn't. "Oz" is slang for "Aussie" which is itself short for Australia.

Lol well you just gave us a general direction with many continents and land masses intercepting it.

most people non-native or un-directly advised wouldn't know oz being a nickname for aussie, a nickname for australia.. a nickname of a nickname.
never knew any geography teachers to tell me the street slang names of any continent. lol "And this one heres called Oz yo!"

and australia as big as north america??? how the hell?

Seriously, no one has heard the term "Oz" before?

Okay Retuks, get yourself a map. Look at what's south-east of Indonesia and north of Antarctica...a rather large island, which would be Australia. There are many continents and landmasses in this space?

Also, notice I said America (the country) not North America (the continent). Minus Alaska, the USA is about the same size...

you said mainland america. which is commonly refferes to North american continent.

i never included alaska. maybe geologists did some whacko analysis on mountain range + land mass beneath the ocean because they like to get anally technical but id say based on flat surface area NA is bigger.

like how Mauna Loa is the worlds biggest mountain because scientists measured it from the ocean floor when in reality its a laugh compared to everest when it comes to how much closer to outter space you can get. you know, the REAL definition of biggest mountain. lol.

Nooo the geography teachers part was because I said it's south-east of Indo and north of Antarctica, and the size of the USA...and he replied with, is it in England? lol

Retuks, "mainland" means on the mainland, as in not separted by other countries or water...excluding Alaska, America is about 7,800,000 km2....Australia is 7,600,000 km2....

Okay guys, my sarcasm has obviously gone over some heads...can we drop it and stop hijacking the thread?

The OP has no source as of yet so hijack away. You can't stay stuff like this and people to beleive it without a source.

As for the oz part. I had no idea Australia was called oz. I seriously thought it was some nickname for a US state or something. Would have never guessed a whole continent he was talking about. Just my 2 cents.

It would be rather funny if the OP chimed in and said OZ was a nickname for some random state/province lol.
