And all over the world, geography teachers shed a tear...

Well, I suppose England is technically north of Antarctica, but no, no it isn't. "Oz" is slang for "Aussie" which is itself short for Australia.
Oz is where the yellow brick road lead dorthy & her clan

No red devils? :( I thought Oz dudes were too busy surfing and drinking fosters lager to be looking after fish. Oh and losing at cricket (I don't like cricket but I hear you guys do like it)

I'm from the UK and not knowing where Oz is would be like someone not knowing the Big Apple is New York...
I read some bazzare fact that 70% of North Americans don't have a passport... so that might explain little interest of what is outside the USA... but hey I live on a small island that is 5 by 10 miles in size (called Jersey, the orignal not the new one), I guess if I lived in The USA I wouldn't want to leave it either. Oh and yes getting fish here is a nightmare!

I read something similar, and one explanation is the size of the US. Because the US takes up a continent from coast to coast, most of us would have to fly to travel internationally. Neither I nor most of my friends can afford that. I hope to travel internationally when I'm older and have the dough.

Driving through states in the northeast is similar to driving through countries in Europe. You can bet that if I could drive an hour to get international food in its native form, I'd have a passport all stamped up.

This thread is pathetic.
