I've been bugging the guys who HAVE the TRUE yellow / xanthic jags, to get on breeding them, but none of them have followed through - which is a shame, because all it would take is a few months. That was a few years ago now.
Sorry but the pic of dovii in question is not what would be referred to as a red dovii. Could be a color morph, hybrid, etc. but as cichlid fish pointed out in the link he posted, that is the red dovii and IMO, yes they would be highly desirable and most likely expensive. Not only was the current in the collecting river fast but there are also very high cliffs to access the river... I've never seen proof of location so part of me speculates that those high cliffs and fast streams are to scare people away lol. But one day I'm sure someone will attempt the collection and hopefully soon
