even if its a mayan its still a cool fish jim. Mine is doing well, i broke down and bought it and im glad i did
i gotta post a pic of my 7 incher tomar. Festaes are cool but to me not worth searching all over for. The mayan is over looked and that sucks because this is my second mayan. Wish i had the other but sold because it was too small and getting picked on.
cali hawk... are there really true festae in sac? is this common or seasonal? lookin for a big tank and a festae would be a nice co-center piece w/ a jag
By the tail spot make this fish look like a Mayan.
My lil guy looks like your fish but his tail spot in only half of the tail, & he has a full flowerline..
Maybe what you have is a RD/Midas, that's what mine was ID'd as.
I'd be surprised if my guy turned out to be a Mayan or Festae.
I'd even settle for a Festae X RD if it was possible.
That would be 1 bad ass fish, with attitude for days.

You have a nice looking fish, but it does appear to be a Mayan. The EYE spot on the tail isn't offset. It covers the the whole tail. Nice fish though.
