cali hawk... are there really true festae in sac? is this common or seasonal? lookin for a big tank and a festae would be a nice co-center piece w/ a jag

Yeah my brother pic/text me about 3 days ago...Im not sure if its Capitol or Exotic Aquariums. Just google tropical fish store sacramento and the list will show up. Call the 6-7 stores that show up.

Or better yet, don't buy any cuz Im going up there in July for my bro's Birthday, I'll clear the stock out, LOLJK

for a 4" festae would be between $30 to $40..... some would even sell a 4" festae for $50 if it is wild caught or maybe even a f1....

thanks but i'm not in a hurry to run out and buy one. i had my last one for six years and had to get rid of him cause he got too big but was bein beaten up. got my gold flowerhorn cross now and he's the HNIC.

FYI, If you are referencing the advertisement of "True Festae" @ Exotic Aquarium in Sacramento, CA, which is a very nice LFS, my wife and I went there on Monday 16 May 2011. The fish are not True Festae. They are Mayans. The Eye Spot on the tail covers the whole tail and the stripe does not form the Y pattern. I spoke with one of the employees about the distinct patterns and characteristics and advised him that the fish were in fact Mayans not "True Festae". He was surprised that they weren't Festae.:WHOA: He stated that someone at the store spoke with the supplier of the Mayans and was informed that they were in fact Festae. Nevertheless, the Mayans were very nice and healthy. I believe that they were selling for $7.99.
It is ironic that my wife just happened to take some pictures of the Mayans while we were there. Some of the pictures aren't that clear but you can clearly see the Eye Spot covering the whole tail. See attached photos.
