Red hi fin wolf fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't recommend that haha.
But I go through hundreds of crays every year. I breed them for snakeheads, polys, catfish, etc. and I've never had a single issue. The only time you ever see an injury is when the cray is not an appropriate size for the predator. If you feed responsibly there is 0 risk.

Is that Fedor and Wanderlei? lol..

Excited to see what happens on Sat.

You must be from the liberal part of Canada where they allow Channa, over here they will make frontline news if they think they found one in the lake, only to turn out to be a native bowfin.

My red wolf, when I had him, ate crayfish.

I remember the first time, the crayfish wasn't even meant to be a prey item as it was the same size as the wolf (both @ 4")..
I noticed loud thumps coming from the tank at night and I went to go check it out and the wolf was tossing the crayfish around like a basketball using its jaw after it had completed moulting.. while it was nice and soft.

Mine also ate shrimp, tilapia fillets and pellets. Give your guy time, he will eat.

I personally wouldn't use bloodworms as they can get messy, especially if the wolf is not eating up all of them. Maybe try an earthworm instead.

I think your right I'll give him some time should I add the drift wood back into the tank or just leave it with sand and like 4 plants? I did add some minnows yest. And their still there ?

Definitely give him more time. Out of the few wolves that I've kept, I found Erythrinus erythrinus to be the most shy while acclimating. I know how you feel, but give it more time and do stick to more meaty, appropriately sized items.

I would give him a driftwood, remember no matter how monster/vicious of a fish they are, they still get stressed and would find comfort in a hiding spot provided with decor - especially when in a new environment.

You could also try lowering the light intensity. I've achieved this with a couple of layers of paper towels under the light fixture (I had a canopy, so it was concealed well) and floating plants.

Give it some time, Mine was like that for a week or so and now it comes out all the time.

Mine will take ken's pellets (catfish/4bit/krill/earthworm) also raw shrimp and tilapia chunks.

I have mine in my 75g sump with a masheer and raphael cat.

I have a Purple wolf, When it was around 2-3inch. The Professor told me it loves guppies. As soon as i got the little guy I never feed it ANY live feeders. right away it ate whole silversides and earthworms(starved for a week/ less then that.). as it got older I fed it Hikari Gold, floating and sinking(massivore, carnivore, Tilapia) and even Koi pellets LOL. basically they arent stubborn eaters, just give them time and they will give in. Right now my wolf is 8-9inch and THICK!!!

I measured him he's 7 and a half :0
I was thinking of that you think I should starve him for a week and a half ? And do you think I should take out the driftwood since all he does is hide under it I can see him but I want him to be active :(
