  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
FJB sorry I don't know how to quote messages with my phone. I got the Severums in CT at aquatic wildlife. First time seeing them so they were a must have.

Wow! RED Severums are Stunning!!! Now I am going to have to go out and find some. MFK is costing me so much money, every time I see something awesome, I have to have it and can't resist. Are Severums Central or South American?

I know that they suppose to not be fertile but what is producing them red x gold or red x red. I asked a breeder on aquabid once and he would not answer the question. Just stated that his was super reds.

Thanks Fjb6673 & callmechris for the clarification on Central or South.

koltsix, extra nice reds, good camera work

Thanks I appreciate the compliments! I hand picked the Red's out of a big group of them, tried to get the best one's. Two are really well patterned almost to the point of being Super Reds but not quite. The rest in my opinion are fairly typical. Some in this thread have said that Red Sev's aren't fertile, I haven't heard that before so I don't know how valid those statements are. I have heard that for a cichlid Red Sev's tend to be very picky about pairing up and that's the difficulty in spawning them. Despite that I am hoping to try my hand at breeding them and that's why I bought a group may buy a normal Gold Sev male just in case the infertility thing is true.

Idk but my red and my gold I got from the same place and they are inseparable
