Your are one hundred percent correct, genes, water chemistry, good food, and space are a must. You need to learn how to read my friend
fish only show good KoK at 3-4inches based on what? GENES, WATER CHEMISTRY, GOOD FOOD, and SPACE!! also if you clearly LOOK at those photos from the OP. You will clearly see this KoK, and has probably went down to, humm what it is now (in the photos) because of what 4 factors? I will also add 1 more to this very instance. BREEDING!
please elaborate to me my friend, on how you feel i don't know how to read?
cepon3;1943938; said:But you dont go from Zero to hero.. you may magnify the size of the hump by a little bit but i would not expect drastic changes.. this is an example of a nice RS.. this is something worth well above 300 with a female mate. I wouldnt expect the male in the OP's post to look like this with just a water quality change..

i don't think anyone said anything about his KoK getting bigger due to water changes... i think what he was referring to was giving the right 4 factors, a late bloomer can really shine. each flowerhorn is different, and what works for one to be healthy may not work for another... this is where the relationship between these fish and their owners gets deeper then just any ole CA/SA cichlid.
what ever i can do to help the people lmao..
