Not a word. Sorry, pet peeve. I agree with cepon, if he doesn't have a head at that size, he's never going to have a big one. While they are attractive fish, I wouldn't pay that much for them. The fact that they have to be divided has been brought up, that's not a good thing. As was also stated before, a similarly colored and sized alternative would be a nice Midas pair. They'd be easier on the pocket book as well and would probably look better at that size. Like MAC's male Midas of similar size:

Granted, that's a high quality fish, but there's no reason you couldn't find something similar, and I bet it'd be less than 300 bucks.

If you are looking for a nice solid colored cichlid that gets big, just get a high quality red devil ,midas, king kong parrot with kok, or a high quality rosequeen. If it needs to be a FH, on top of my head a better quality RS, flame, or a GM(golden monkey) is your best bet. If you need help looking for a nice fish, let me know. But I gatta let you know ahead that they will NOT be cheap. When it comes to FHs, you gatta pay to play.

Ok the money is not an issue, well it wont be next month. I will get back to you then.

no, not even close

just get some midas' and be done with it
i looked at those pictures of whatever the fish is called, 'red shock' or whatever and they look like a midas. no way is a midas clone worth $300 imo

the above fish are definitely not worth that much, not even half, they will not get much of a kok, and the color could be better.

spend that money on the SRS that someone else posted, not these ones.

are you guys sure that Midas is pure though??? ive never seen a Midas with a red head and light pale body, plus, bright blue in the fins...

IIRC the Midas is from Jeff Rapps.

Those are not srs. Finnage is off. Similar looking but not actually srs or red monkeys. I would think Midas x kkparrot or something.

Theyre called a breeding pair right? have they ever bred? Just because it's a male female doesnt mean breeding pair. And are you sure theyre opposite sex?

If you like em get em. It took more than $300 to raise em to that size from their eggs anyway. And that male's head is not going to get much bigger, i dont think.

Those aren't SRS bro.

Check out aquabid. There's a seller called paragon with some nice babies. Those are real srs. The ones for $180 are real nice. But that's pretty expensive though.
