My lfs has a male festae that's about 8-10" for $49.99 and I was wondering if I should get it. I don't know much about them like how aggressive they are, what size tank, tankmates.... It was a nice-looking fish and I am thinking about getting it...

If it was a true fesate, not a uro, I would get it in a rush. A male that size should be very aggressive. A minimum tank size for a lone male that size should be atleast 100 gallons or more. With tankmates, 100++++ gallons is required and tankmates should be similiar sized aggressive central/south american cichlids.

I agree, cause it may or may not be a true Festae.
You will need at least a 125 gal tank.Males can get up to 15" and are highly agressive

Alright, thanks man, I'll do that. I'll try to go get one tomorrow. It looks like the male ones on here, but as I said I don't know that much about them. Better safe than sorry i guess.

Right now, I have a 75 gallon, but I should be getting a 300 in mid-September....:headbang2

A 75 gallon for the lone male festae should be ok for a while. A 300 gallon would be great for a male festae and tankmates. Tell us if you get him. Are you sure its not a mayan cichlid though?

ive never heard of red terror, but if its the same as a red devil dont put it in with anything else. it should be fine in a 55gal

If you've never heard of a fish, why are you giving advice about tankmates or what size tank it will be fine in? :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead
