Regulations for certain fish species

Well, you've openly admitted on the forums you have Asperger's syndrome (on a side note I'll take your opinion on how stupid other people are with a grain of salt, as per diagnosis you have little empathy), so should the government sterilize anyone who has a low IQ or disorder such as yours? Or outright kill you?

Like Nazi Germany "exterminating" jews, homosexuals, etc?

..... If this system works in Germany that maybe the US can learn something about it. You can't argue with success. You're taking something as simple as a permit test for a potentially dangerous or sensitive animal and blowing it out of proportions. Government involvement is a necessity and theres nothing you can do about it except turn it into something beneficial, especially for animals which many people don't properly understand or know how to take care of.

You are 100% right. What a clockworkorange not understands is, that freedom comes with responsibility. Your freedom ends, where it touches someone else freedom. Look at RTC for example. Evryone knows, that almost all of them suffer under terrible conditions. Should i allow animal abuse, because someones freedom? No! If a person can not care in a proper way for such an animal, he is not allowed to buy it. It is as simple as that. Warnings do not work.

What are you talking about? Whose freedom is it touching when you keep an animal in your home thats causing no harm to anyone else. Surely you are not reffering to the fish

Darius is right. Your home is not a lawless immune zone. Who's to say that everyone who has aros and rtc's have 2000 gallon tanks. the thing is they don't. And if people aren't educated about them then they shouldn't keep them period. unless they get a permit with a test. which works in germany. I like the idea.

Well it works fine in germany. I like it much more over here. I want full control over all those idiots who bring themself and others in danger. My personal opinion is, that 95% of humans are low IQ guys who need a helping hand to guide them. And i don´t want animals to suffer under idiocy.

Your percentage of people unfit to completely think for themselves is a bit high, but I do agree with you to an extent in that some people do need a helping hand to guide them.

Studies have already shown that most people are incapable of making the correct choices when it comes to electing the best politicians which in turn results in poorly worded laws, unnecessary bans, corruption, lack of enforcement (or over-zealousness), and other problems. This leads us to situations in which the responsible people get punished as a result of the actions of the not-so-responsible, e.g. the Python Ban and other ridiculous bans. Another problem is the lack of proper enforcement of the laws that are already in place. Just try getting an exotic animal permit in PA. You can meet all the requirements and do all your training & such, yet you still will not get that permit because the powers that be are not fit to be in power in some cases.

It's these reasons that prevent me from supporting permit systems in this country because certain people are too dumb to make them work properly. Yes, it looks great on paper (so did Communism), but it doesn't do us any good if it's not properly enforced. If a sustainable permit system were to be set up and if permits were actually issued to those who deserve them, then, and only then, would I consider supporting such a system. I don't see that happening here any time soon, though...

So you would also outlaw the selling of fish, beef, pork, chicken, etc. for food? Hunting for sport?

NO! this drawing of the line thing is irrelevant. Its simple: one should not own an RTC if they don't know its requirements or how to keep it. Go ahead and eat all the pork and chicken you want. We are talking about a living breathing animal who didn't ask to be taken to somebody's house and stuffed in a 30 gallon tank
