Regulations for certain fish species

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So how does keeping a fish in my house affect someone else's freedom? For someone so in to "logic," you don't have much of it bud. I also don't think you'll have to worry about having kids. ;)

thanks for the personal insult :)

You keep a RTC in 75 gallon tank, thats animal abuse. Animal abuse is a crime. Crime is a violence against society and not accepted. At the moment its a silent crime because it happenes mostly unnoticed. Once regulations kick in, it will be noticed and many fish will be taken out of their fish concentration camps.

And now you're talking in your other thread about how you're using fish to cycle a tank?

I tested the water parameters before to assure they are fine. All 12 neon tetra go to a buddy of me, who will implement them in his amazonas tank. So don´t worry. And what about my avatar insults you? You don´t like that i make a funny face there? Why must you stick to personal insults? Unable to counter arguments with arguments?

How's this for an argument... You stuck fish into an uncycled tank. You obviously don't even know how an aquarium cycle works. You're sitting here talking about fish cruelty, when a big fish in a small tank with plenty of water changes is going to be far better off than what you're subjecting those tetras to.

Your avatar should be a crime.

I'm not going to get on either side of this argument, but questioning others arguments and insulting them personally in one topic, isn't exactly wise.
People on here need to stop with the personal insults against other members. As soon as someone insults another member, I , and probably lots of other members, do not take him serious anymore. Insulting othere on a public forum is plain childish and does not represent MFK in any good way.

I have to agree with aclockworkorange on this one, and if I remember correctly we don't always.lol! Seriously though where do we draw the line with these regulations? I understand both sides point of view, but in my opinion a regulation like this would be over stepping the boundaries of personal liberties. You speak of the effect on society and that being I'm assuming your line in the sand as far as regulations. If it doesn't affect society than it's fine, but if it does it should be regulated. What things does a person do that doesn't affect society though?

I personally find scantily clad women distracting. Does that mean they should be regulated? I could conceivably be distracted by them while driving and perhaps have an accident while driving my car which would affect a portion of society. As a matter of fact I have been distracted by scantily clad women before and have almost had an accident. Gad Zooks we should outlaw or regulate revealing outfits. Women should have to take a test to make sure they know not to wear clothes like that in a public area as it could affect society negatively. They should only wear such clothes in the privacy of their own homes so they won't pose a danger and once a year they should get a surprise visit making sure they're following said regulation.

Now my example may seem ridiculous but is it really any more ridiculous than you saying keeping a RTC in a 75 gallon tank affects society? In both instances people might find these actions offensive or as having a negative affect on society, so what exactly is different about them? Leaps can always be made using logic very loosely and that's what causes regulations such as this to be passed. Cause a con man can fool a lot of people by picking and choosing the facts he presents you with so that he can make you think your coming to a natural logical conclusion. As sad as some people's choices are in life, it's their right to make them. With every passing regulation that encroaches on our civil liberties how long will it be before they have you believing everything should be regulated for your own protection or well being. Perhaps someone should tell me how to dress, so I don't offend or so I can be successful. Perhaps how many showers a day I should take and how many times I should brush my teeth. I mean if I have poor hygiene, I'm more likely to get sick and infect others which will cause people to call out from work. Then I'll have kids and they'll be dirty and we'll exponentially affect more and more people with each generation. Until our dirtiness ultimately grinds all of society to a halt. Arrrrggghhh, all because we didn't make that one dirty guy bathe now we created the downfall of society. Damnnnnn you, damnnnnn you all to hell! See Planet of the Apes to see the results of such poor regulating.lol!

You are wrong. The tank is cycled. I just test it before adding my bichirs.

Perfectly fine. But animal abuse is a crime. And as said before your home is no lawless zone.
