Remember that Killer Whale that Killed it's Trainer?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
At one point, it was put this way:

A drunk driver gets into a car accident and dies. Who's fault? The drunks. Nobody will argue that. There were rules to protect the person, and that person broke the rules.

Same story. Person breaks safety rules and dies. Who's fault? ALL three situations, safety rules were violated.

Carlos Mencia said it best: "It's a killer whale. KILLER is right in the name. You would feel different if if was a bunch of killer Mexicans."

i didn't read the article but correct me if i'm wrong, it's 3 people since 1991? i think 3 people in 20 years isn't a bad body count for an orca....most serial killers can't go that long between kills. i think it's shown great restraint

I believe that some beautiful things weren't meant to be kept. The orca was just being an orca. What a beautiful, amazing creature!!!

Animals that don't thrive in captivity shouldn't be there. The quality of life just doesn't seem to be there for captive whales.

the fact that it's captive has nothing to do with the story, it's too late to release it, it's been captive for over 20 years.

it's really a matter of the fact that we continue to put ourself in harm's way by doing shows with it. i'd be just as fascinated by seeing an orca show or no show but it's the show that drives in money

Why shouldn't the whale get his job back.. Michael Vick did.

Because Vick's job wasn't related to the dog fighting incident?
Vick isn't allowed to own a dog anymore. Whale shouldn't be allowed to train with people.

Whale didn't ask to be held in captivity and forced to perform with humans.
