Yeah prob, but I keep the bedroom door locked so it will give me time to react in the middle of the night. Either way, if stuff hits the fan, I'm going for the 12 gauge with the magnum buckshots, not the handgun. And the shotgun wont fit in a drawer!!

Well it's not an 870 but I've got a Mossberg 500 that will do the same job (#8).

I had a Mossberg as a kid and absolutely loved it. It was a fantatic shotgun.

Look into the 870 Marine Mag and add a pistol grip to it. The gun is amazing and the nickel coating makes cleaning alot easier. 18" barrel

I've got a 870 Super mag and love it. 3 and a half inch shells loaded with rock salt and gravel for home protection. The 26" barrel is too long for what your looking for though
