Ok so my first choice would the the helmeted iguana which I doubt I am going to find.

So being that that is out what about any of the satanic/ leaftails geckos? Or not enough humidity?

You can put Frogs in them - Dumpys, any type of Phylomedusa, even Red Eyes......

Chameleons would work, and you can keep pairs together.......I use to keep all my Veilds and Panthers paired up year round.......You could put 10 or 15 Pygmys in a cage that size if you wanted too........

Frillies are boring, along the same lines as a Water Dragon.......

Blue Geckos would be another option, and I can get you a bunch..........They will go up in value probably more sooner than later........

Phelsuma
Pink Tongue Skinks
And the list goes on.........

I got pygmies in smaller cages.

I did ponder chams. I would love to do panthers. But you know how some people are adamant about not keeping pairs together. I swear them cham people are damn near as bad as dart frog people. ;);)

The day geckos are an option as well.

Another problem I am going to have is the winter. My basement stays a bit coolor and it gets down to the low 60's high 50's at night in the dead of winter. I can add heat lights but it is still cooler down there.

Regardless it will be a few weeks before I even get it set up let along have the extra cash for critters. Between the other half losing his job and then lovely lovely motorcycle wreck I have been so strapped it aint even fun. Good part is he has a new job and I am finally all healed up.

So 1.1 panthers would be ok?

Eric - Do you ever see the helmeted iguanas any more?

Never really seen them in the first place.......They aren't really targeted as an Export, but if someone catches a few, they get sent off with all the other stuff........

It has been years since I have even seen any. I had one for 10 years that was sold as a forest chameleon. Picked it up on a whim at a show and was never able to find another one.

How big is the mesh on these things?

It's true, I haven't seen one in years. And yes, they usually went as "forest chameleon" in the trade.

The mesh is pretty fine, I'd compare it to window screen. The closest thing to it that I've seen is the screen you see on sliding screen doors, though it seems a little sturdier than that. I wonder about certain animals catching claws in it, though I think they claim it doesn't happen, and I haven't talked to anyone who's used them for climbing types so I'm not sure.

Somebody mentioned monkey lizards (Polychrus) on here not long ago, they might be cool in there. Or large anoles like A. equestris maybe. Green tree skinks, calotes, maybe a conehead or basilisk? Just throwing ideas out at this point.

I like the cuban knight anoles. They might be kinda cool to try.

I might be leaning toward a pair of chams. Might. So many people have them any more.

What about the sailfin dragons? Do they get too big?

i think I might want something smaller that I can house multiple animals and still have plenty of room.

The green basilisk are kinda cool... hell i dont know.

The reason I asked about the mess size was to see what food items would stay in and what food items would escape.

Brown Anoles all the way. They like low humidity, live in groups and are the perfect size.
