Reptarium help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have plenty of brown anoles and have no desire to have more. I have a small tank set up with about 6 adults that breed all the time. I hatch out the babies and sell them off at the shows.

Not worth the $1.00 - $2.00 you get for them at the shows. And I am not in this for the money but I dont like losing money either.

I can not see putting brown anoles in a 175 or 260 gal reptarium. I want something a little more exotic.

I can see how you might want something a little bit cooler. I love the little guys. I can get them for free. I just have to get the time to go catch them. Good luck!

The monkey tail lizards (?) sound like a good idea, and of course, I like the leachies idea :). And since you're getting TWO enclosures, the more the merrier...

I like the cuban knight anoles. They might be kinda cool to try.

I might be leaning toward a pair of chams. Might. So many people have them any more.

What about the sailfin dragons? Do they get too big?

i think I might want something smaller that I can house multiple animals and still have plenty of room.

The green basilisk are kinda cool... hell i dont know.

The reason I asked about the mess size was to see what food items would stay in and what food items would escape.

Sailfin Dragons - No

Basilisks - No

The only drawbacks with Reptariums is eventually the Crickets will chew out of them, and since these are used, I would expect a few holes. It takes a while, but it does happen. The last Reptariums I had lasted around 10 months before I had to start repairing them. Nothing a screen patch wouldn't solve, but I'm all about asthetics, and they just didn't do it for me............

And if Leachies are out of your price range, most Abronia will be too.......

Point blank, the retail Panther Market has way too much supply and not enough demand........The wholesale Market will eat them up though.......

^ Good point on the crix, yes they will eat their way out. Not sure about other feeder insects though; crickets are 6 legged garbage disposals, they'll nibble away on anything.

what about some abronia?

This what i would probably do but i dont know prices on these guys, i imagine they take some $$$. If it gets so cool in the winter down there i would shoot for some leaf tailed geckos. Personally and more specific satanic leaf gecko. Just add some glass or plexi on the sides.

The 260 is used. The 175 is still new in the box. So I was expecting holes in the 260 anyways. Being that they will be in the basement, I can deal with a few patches.

Leachies are out of the my price range for the time being. A few months from now maybe not, not sure.

Cup feeding to keep the crickets at bay is always an option as well.

I think I my try panthers in one and maybe one of the leaf tail geckos in another.

Now to decide which is which. still a bit up in the air on the panthers but definately a leaf tail of sorts in the one.
