does anyone know is it better to fill let it sit for a while then empty or fill and empty right away?

I cant say for sure, but it has to sit long enough to leech into the water, but it hits a point of saturation then you want to change the water. I believe most people do daily water changes, but if you can check the water parameters, wait for them to stop changing, then empty and refill. repeat until parameters dont change at all anymore
 
Alright thanks. I would say everything turn out pretty well for my first DIY project. Lets see if it all holds together
