Ressurecting the fishroom stage 1

The killz would be a great start to covering the walls, they have a new kind that has no smell to it at all, its more expensive, but it works wonders. Then, like everyone is saying, dehumidifier 24/7, and a couple of small fans to circulate the "stale" air. Other that that, I can't think of anything else. Oh....the sheet rock, I would use Densheild...Its an awesome product, or the Durarock is good, but the Densheild is made of a lighter material. This tile company I worked for sold it, and we did tests, we ran the durock over with a truck, and it crumbled, the Densheild on the other han stayed in perfect condition! The installer loved it because it was so much lighter...Far superior product! (sorry about the little story...lol...)

I used to work at a hardware store and we recommended Ug Drylock It comes in both oil based and latex. You shouldn't use it on floors though for that a two part epoxy paint is best

:iagree: This is what I used even over exsisting mildew,stop the growth and killed it .Works very well.Dutch boy oil based mildew resistant kitchen and bath paint or something like that.I know it was dutch boy and oil based and mildew resistant just not sure of the order in which it was used in the title.You get the picture,I hope. :screwy:
 
I piced up some zinnsner anti mildew paint only paint I could find locally that specificall mentioned mildew resistance.Got the sheetrock done Have to spackle paint and caulk.Got all the tanks resealed and ready to go.Had to push this project back a little,sorta forgot I hadnt got all my firewood chopped and hauled back to the house.Gotta get that done before snows come or me and the fish wont make it thru the winter

LOL infamous.I finally got to spackle and caulk yesterday was at work all day today.hoping to make time to paint this week.
 
Ready for paint ,hopefully will start friday.Moved the other rack out to give me room to work,the rack in the photo will hold 4 20g on center shelf ,20L 15L and 18custom for betta breeding on top shelf,and 3 30g on bottom shelf.Its made with true 4x4 from a sawmill.Other rack being redesigned for 55g tanks before it goes back in. I have another small stand(my first diy from way back) Im planning to use to hold the sumps.
