Restaurant Banning Loud Children

my apologies, I was unaware of that fact. I completely agree with tipping, I think its silly to expect it. I'll tip a buck here and there for good service at a coffee shop or something, and I definitely tip my bartender. but none of this crazy 10-20% bs. I lived off tips when I worked at Dairy Queen back in the day, sure didn't expect them though...I put candy and soft serve in a cup and mixed it up for 10 seconds, nothing I'd expect extra over, but I certainly didn't refuse either haha.

no worries dude.

but now that you understand how it really works, I always ask after enlightening someone, why then should only certain workers in a service-type job get tipped and not others? like for example, you go buy a shoe, and an employee asks if you need help, they then bring you some shoes to try on, then you ask for them to bring you different size and finally after trying on a few shoes you pick one. why tip a waitress and not the shoe salesman?

I tip at McDonald's. Those people work hard. Bust tables. Clean up after messy kids. Serve far more food then a restaurant ever could...all For minimum wage. apparently someone has decided that their hard work in the food industry is undeserving of tips though? How's that fair? tip all or tip no one

I remember this topic on here a while back i think most agreed that the ban should be put in place at the owners disgression of really nice five star restraunts where a steak is $50 or $60+ a place where small unrully children probably don't belong in the first place as for anywhere else then it children are fine if the parents do their job and keep them under control which imo isn't common enough in the us anymore

if it's not unlawful for owners to do this, then I guess i'm ok with it whether it's a 5 star joint or denny's since it's their choice and their right. assuming that it doesn't break any laws

I understand that a high end place where the steak is $50+ people may not want children around, that's why I say I can understand both sides. because at the same time, a family should be able to enjoy a joint where the steak is $50+ with their children if they so choose

God forbid you help someone make a little extra money.
I leave huge tips when I go out. And when they get my tip I bet it puts a smile on their face. Maybe you've never struggled.
So you keep your money. Luckily for servers people like yourself aren't the majority. And people like myself pick up your slack.

lmao, give little extra money? why is it that you only give extra money to certain workers and not others? that's my issue with that comment

but I swear, it ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS goes in this direction........this is ALWAYS the conclusion, it's ALWAYS the judgment when I speak my mind about this topic

you guys don't know anything about my background. I struggled all my life dude. my parents came here already older and didn't speak a word of English. had to get on welfare and food stamp for a while

I received grants and aid when I went to college. you know who gets free grants in college? low income family.

I worked for everything I had dude. I've done it all, janitorial work, bussing tables, dishwashing, cooked, cleaned, stocked.........and went to school to get my foot in the door and work my way up

when I was bussing tables and cooking and washing dishes, and sick of the low pay, guess what? I did something about it

I struggled a lot. A LOT. I never expected a tip just because I worked a minimum wage job. Tipping because you want to make someone's day is a good gesture, tipping because they or the general public expect it takes it to a different level. If I didn't make enough at my job, I found a better one. No one needs to expect a tip ever, that's trying to justify your job is worth extra when it isn't. I busted my *** at a Home Depot for 4 years loaded and unloading lumber, concrete, drywall, everything. I certainly didn't expect the customers to tip me for that work. Some people did tip and hey cool thanks but I never expected it nor did I get mad when I didn't get one.

I regularly have to move 300-400lb patients on and off stretchers, and occasionally clean up bodily fluids/solids........I wished I get monetary tips haha
