Yes FRTs used to be common in the LFS where I am before the ban in 2005.

They were real cheap back then. Price ranged from USD 10 - 16

hhhmm when i first started in the hobby and i had been told that 2 red hooks, 2 fronts and 2 parrot fish were fine in a 100 LITRE!!!!
needless to say after picking up the 2 redhooks i immeidiatly went and bought a 125.
even then with the intention of upgrading.

When I was 13ish I bought a ID shark for my 10 gallon tank to go with my red tailed black shark... "because the fish only grew as big as the tank allowed"...


My red-tailed black shark quickly "vanished" (at the time I didn't realize what a ID shark could eat). It was only 1" smaller than the ID.

About 2-3 months after that, I have a 7-8" ID shark that would practically have seizures and knock itself out hitting its head against the glass everytime I stepped in front of the tank to feed it.

I ended up bringing it back.
