just as an FYI - dan woodland commented that he thinks i have HRPs
i know there is some disagreement between dan and ken on this issue, and i'm not here to add fuel to the fire.
i'm simply interested to hear opinions from people who are far more knowledgeable than me. i appreciate all the comments and thoughts.
i think the best thing is to just say i have some pretty neat fish and move on
once the dust settles on this family/genus i'm sure we'll all know about it.

The fact that you have some neat fish is needless to say.

"convicts" have been moved to the genus Amatitlania and seperated into 4 different species.
Amatitlania nigrofasciata
Amatitlania coatepeque
Amatitlania kanna
Amatitlania siquia
Location determines species.

congrats then! Not just on the ID but on the latest addition to your sweet frikkin stock list. We'll have to work out some buy/trade deals. I see too many fish on your list I soooooo want.

LOL. Dan and I agree to disagree on a number of things.
With wild fish unless DNA is done (and you actually have other DNA to compare it to) you have to go by distribution and what the fish look like in comparison to what's already in the hobby. I tend to be opinionated. 
Keep wild fish pure by collection location and you know what you've got irregardless to what everyone else tells you. Ken
