I am a bit confused because the new ammendmant to QLDs noxious fish didn't include silvers or Pbass. Gars yes, snakeheads were already illegal and since when could we not buy S. leichardti legally. Cites listed???? A fish that is sold, bred and used to stock dams up here. Never mind that it has a take home limit of 1 per person and a size limit of 50cm to keep while fishing.
Additions to QLD's noxious fish from 1 August 2009. See link. http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/cps/rde/dpi/hs.xsl/28_13027_ENA_HTML.htm
Current noxious fish list http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/cps/rde/dpi/hs.xsl/28_13605_ENA_HTML.htm
I do agree on the rediculas prices here though.

Hey buddy. Ive never bothered to read your links as they do not apply to anywhere outside QLD, so dont be confused. Also Leichardti are only available in QLD and have been cites listed for several years now. I cannot even have one sent down from dam stocks.

Sorry i just realised i had those two on that list. Silvers and pbass are currently under review or "grey listed" which after talking to some "experts" a few weeks back basically means expect them to be noxious soon rather then later.

Dude, i dunno what happened, i just checked and s. leichardti are not cites listed. I checked this info over a year ago after trying to get a LFS to bring in one for me. I was told they were cites listed and came home to check. Sure enough they were listed but now it says they are no considered endangered. But we still cant buy em here?

I can assure it was not Cites listed.

Here is what's relevent for your state. You will notice Scleropages leichardti or jardini are not to be seen on the lists anywhere.

you missed my above post dude.

Regardless of the details my point was these fish on my list are extremely expensive.
No, I don't think I did. You must have missed that in my first post :D, the part where I agreed with you on the rediculous prices over here.

As for the rest of your statement. Well, not trying to be rude dude but I had to correct it as it was incorrect and misleading. If we are to give any knowlage to people on the forum, it should be as accurate as possible and based on fact.;)

Sorry to the OP for derail but I felt it needed attention.

no one forced you to buy them did they?
when theyre bigger its actually harder to sell than when theyre smaller.
YOU chose to buy them.
and YOU agreed to pay the price.
that is NOT a rip off.
do the research before buying.
this goes out to everyone, not just the OP.

Well you CLEARLY MISSED MY ABOVE POST
here ill make it super easy for ya

, as i stated what you said about the saratoga . Also the way you have come off its like the fish on my list are legal to import. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE IMPORTED INTO AUSTRALIA ( currently), regardless of noxious listing. Noxious listing is for DECLARED pests. None of the fish in my original post are availible to be imported in australia and all freshwater rays are banned. just because something is not noxious listed doesnt mean its availible for import. Although i was'nt clear in every fine detail i never thought it really mattered seeing as there are only a handful of australians on here seeing as its a U.S based site. So if you want to correct things people say then why not just post up all the facts, difference between noxious, grey listed and fish under consideration. Whether it be grey list consideration or import consideration. If your going to be so pedantic about things and try so hard to make me look wrong then atleast put some effort in. ;)

1st. Leichardti were not cites listed. Your info or source is incorrect.

2nd. I never said anything about what is allowed to be imported. That's another story altogether.
The fact is, while we can't import them we can still own these fish as long as they were already here or bred from exhisting stock.(including what is on the grey list) Once it makes the Noxious species list we can't own, keep or breed them. Some exceptions of permits permitting. This is much different than the incorrect info you supplied of saying they were all illegal here.It simply is not the case.

It's all there in black and white in the links I provided. If you can't take the time to further educate yourself by a bit of reading? well, what can I say. I have provided facts with govt links.

As for being only a handful of Australians on this site. I can guarrantee you there are more than you think. It is also a global site.:)

Anyway, I am done here. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.;)

You can be done all you like. What kind of tool has the time to sit and analyse every little bit of what i write? Im well aware of all the in's an outs of aqis, but 9 times out of 10 i can be bothered to type everything i know because personally i dont care that much if things dont directly affect me. All i was trying to do was give ppl on the other side of the world an idea of local fish pricing, if you have nothing better to do then pick apart everything i say to ppl who in no way are affedted by any of it then so be it. But i suppose there is always one in every place like yourself who needs to be the info guy. So congratulations you succeeded in what ever it was you were trying to prove to whoever it was you were trying to prove it too.

Lol. ;)
