River monsters predictions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Actually there still is a lot of massive Dorado in the Rio Uruguay..

I did not know that. Do you have a link to your source? I am always interested in reading about characins, and I reckon I haven't really read much about Dorado. They interest me due to there salmon like morphology (convergent evolution in generally is neat), and I know they are fairly rare due to overfishing. I don't know anything about there distribution other than they are amazonian.

I am not surprised that people kept them as pets, but at the same time I am impressed people can do it because I hear they have a complex life history.

Not trying to call you out mate. I trust your right. I am just interested in reading about the fish.

It was interesting to see the new piranha behaviors, and invasive pima.

Made me kinda think about if they have the capacity to invade the US. Wade said they have an incredible ability to survive cruddy conditions. Maybe the everglades would suit them? Pretty positive they farm them in the orient or south pacific somewhere.

Anyone else?

I'm also very interested in dorado, impressive fish! As to the piranhas, I've seen people on MFK say they are already in the Everglades though I don't really believe that one.

I really don't care what fish he catches as long as its something new not only fish that have the capable of attacking and killing a human but true river monster

I agree the new piranha behavior and Pimas taking over was interesting but the episode was too drawn out for me.
I thought one of the previous episodes about the new pacu behavior(no longe being strictly herbivorous) was alot more interesting and much less drawn out.

Get him working on an Aba Aba or knife show in general.. they deffinately earn the title river monsters for their aggressive tendancies... would love to see a giant aba outside what the Shedd use to have. I wouldn't doubt a 4' aba being able to do some seriouse damage to a swimmer. Or just branch into some of the oddballs in general.. we know so little about their native habitates and even how large some of them can even get in captivity let alone in the wild. like 40" fire eels, and tire tracks in captivity.... how often do you see wild caught giants on fishing shows? I've never seen one. They may not be man-eaters but that doesn't make them less of a river monster. I'de still fill my pants face to face with one...

I'm pretty sure a lot of the fish we keep would survive in the Everglades. He could prob do an episode just on invasives.

He did the episode about snakeheads taking over florida.
I had no clue they were thriving so well there but i guess it makes since...they are mean ass all get out and plenty of other things that dont belong survive there as well.

but i agree an oddball episode would be very cool!
