I woudn't recommend getting a Togo (Heteroscodra maculata) for a first, I keep one and they are lightning fast and are one of the more venomous tarantulas. Mexican red knee (Brachypelma smithi) would make a good first T as would pretty much any of the brachypelma sp. I'm not familiar with the skeleton tarantula...sorry

Cool, Thanks. Mexican Red knees are cool. Togo's are sold at the crappy pet store near by, the place just sux. I want to steal all the animals and burn it down. I just about throw up when I go in the place. I might report them to F&W for selling Venomous T's to people who have no idea on care.

Um... all tarantulas are venomous, and none of them are deadly.

I am more afraid of my own Vietnamese centipede than a bite from one of my friends' tarantulas.

But still, I could most likely report them. Thet T's that at the store are extremely dehydrated, as is everything else.
