Man I was really hoping for something better. Maybe they will look like kamfa when large but for now they look plain. The fader is gonna be really light colored.

The fry i have from the rose queen and texas are about 1" now. Lot of them are showing pearls and a few are a little reddish.

Rose queens are said to be Midas/red devil x vieja synspilum. If I breed back to a Midas would those be considered rose queens?
That's like crossing a Red Mammon with a blood parrot. You can't call it a Red Mammon unless it looks like one. So if your best fry comes put looking like a Midas, Midas x Rose Queen would be a fine name.
A back cross to midas would be absolutely pointless. A back cross to syn would be worthwhile (an attempt at srs comes to mind, introducing fading genetics while trying to have the shape and color influence of a vieja type). I think these fry shown from the rose queen are very ugly, like alot of midevil cross fry they have weird shape and ugly faces.
So to answer you question fully, a rose queen is a first gen cross, back crossing to a midas will give you a fish that's 3/4 midas and in most ways identical to a pure midas. So you can't call it a rose queen but you can call it a waste of time.
