I think he broke his back or something in there ??? After he hit he was paralyzed and couldn't move...... at all He stopped breathing a few minutes later. This all happed within 5 minutes.

The RTC grabbed the TSN on his side or the dorsal area? I had an oscar do the to a lima before. Sorry for the loss. was there signs of aggression before or it just happened.

The RTC grabbed him by the ass end, and wouldnt let go, Thats what led the TSN to flip out and well .....break something.

These two fish got along very well, its just that the RTC always had his plan of eating the TSN Every now and then he would jokingly try to grab him, kinda like sizing him up. And lately the TSN was hanging on the other side of the tank, and had a few battle scars. In hindsight I should have seperated them.

OMG that is scary since my 2 are the exact same size. What size tank were they in? I never saw mine with any agression towards each other. I did see my TSN fight with my Pleco when I needed to put the Pleco in for two days while I was cycling the Pleco tank. I am so sorry for your loss, especially since he was gorgeous. I always say I am so lucky my TSN is beautiful, I see so many that are banged up. He does run into things every so often getting little scratches that heal in a few days.

Sorry for your loss. Seems I am not the only one to take a loss. My Jau unfortunately died. It wasn't the rtc though. Broken heater. I think eventually the Jau would have killed my rtc. He was always ripping the rtc fins. He was 10x more aggressive. The rtc has yet to eat a fish that wasn't handed to him thawed from the freezer.

On another note. Is this the same crazy rtc that tried to eat the other one the same size? You still got the 30"?
