RTCxTSN looks like he's gold plated???

Has anyone ever heard of a RTCxTSN looking like they have a thin layer of gold plating on them? When he first started developing this I immediately jumped to the conclusion that he must have Oödinium (velvet). When I didn't see any dusting to it and realized it just looks like skin pigmentation, I began to worry he might be jaundice or something. But, this isn't just yellow, this is shiney. It literally looks just like a layer of gold plate. Has anyone heard of this before on these cats?

Here are some pics. Sorry the shine isn't picked up in the photos, but at least you can see how much of his body it covers. The comparison really shows up against the TSN in the first photo.

I'm hoping its a good thing, and there's nothing wrong with him. He seems happy and healthy as can be. I love this guy, and I'm hoping he's just interesting and not sick.

They're all beautiful cats! I can't imagine what it could be that would be a bad thing, especially since you've ruled out velvet.

yeah, as they age i think they change to that color. mine is slightly the same. just 13" though...who knows...lol

Seen one like that before, but mine's just a dull gray colour rather than gold. Don't know what causes the differences in colour, maybe it's the parent fish?
