Yeah, my guys did that. They've slowed down lengthwise now, but have been packing on the pounds. I can't get my hands all the way around the TSN and the RTCXTSN. Last night I fed at least 2 cups of a mix of hikari food (mostly massivore) and then the big TSN also put away a half pound of shrimp. I guess they've grown more that I realized since I put him in the 600, especially the TSN. He wasn't even grotesquely bloated and miserable, but just swimming around with a nice full belly.

i put mine in my 180gal at 4" and bam look away and they'er 3"s bigger...mine have just started to eat some cichlid pelletes and food sticks from hikari...the main corse for mine are shrimp and tillapia with the ocational minnow feast...it is amazing how much they can put away...

Man, what monsters. Great looking fish. I love me some catfish and given the choice I would probably keep them if I had room for 120x48x30 lol. My little 350 just wont cut it for these beasts.

Looks great! I don't think anything is wrong with him.

Thank you. :) After seeing these still youngsters in a 4' wide tank, I don't think I'd want to keep them as adults in anything less that 8' wide. They are so active, and I think you would see notable change in behavior in something less that 2x's their length.

Definitely something I like to hear. :)

He looks very happy and healthy congrats. What kind of sand is that? pool filter sand?

Yeah, its pool filter sand. I fish love it cause they love to filter through it. I love it cause it stays down on the bottom and out of my filtration. :)

Your fish are so beautiful. I came face to face with a replica of your tank at a store here, and immediately thought of your tank. I wanted that sooooo bad. :)

Aww... Thank you! I'm enjoy these guys tremendously, but I won't lie. They are a lot of time and effort to keep up. Literally yesterday, I was middle of changing the water and my hybrid decided it was too loud and it stressed him out(I need to build a hose extension so its not so loud when I change the water), so he puked the remainder of his dinner from the night before. :irked: Now, my 300 gallon water change was pretty much useless . I'm doing another one today today as it ended up causing a lot of nitrate. 600 gallons in two days on just one of my tanks?!? Yikes!!! (I know its close to 50%, but I make my own water to the correct temp, pH, and GH and these guys are freaking messy. It's the only way I can keep up on the nitrate right now until I build the planted refugium.)

One major perk of this though (beyond the fact that I love them), was that my mom thought I was crazy for having all these fish. Now though, I think she and the rest of the family find it so impressive that she actually brags to everyone about my fish. It's a nice change from the lectures and disdain for my pets.

i think we're going down simmilar paths, when i got the 180gal my mom was like "that is way to big, your crazy to think that you need a big tank like that or bigger"...last night she said..."wow those fish are feakin huge"...and later after looking at it for a few mins..."that tank is full, you need a BIGGER tank"...i said..."it is funny isn't it...when i got it it was 'way to big', now you say it is full with only 7 fish in a 6' tank":grinno:....and i followed that up with..."now you see why i am in such a rush to build my middle pond, till i get my house to build the big pond, don't ya?" then this morning when i was on the phone with her i heard he say to the neighbors..."you gotta see his fish...their amazing!!"...it feels good to have impressive setups...one reason why i am getting only exotics and large ones...you don't go to every house with a fish tank, look at the tank and see; aros, big cats, knife fish, stingrays, big pacu and soon to come SAL....unless you go to someone on this sites house of course:headbang2

i love the gold color.
i got back my hybrid today and he deff. kept the gold pattern. ill make a thread later tonight.
