Rule,Britania!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it probably was. open borders under the UA more that certainly as stated before made allot of folks mind up. but again, I do not think allot knew or had any ideal what it came with.

Idk pops, timing sure is suspicious to me.
Our English members, was the immigration issue the last straw??

I think it was. Just heard on the news that as a whole their are almost 1 million refugees that will soon be able to move freely through the EU.

This whole refugee thing is a mess. Trying to help these people by resettling them is just not the best move. The best thing we in the west could do is work to stabilize the region even if it means dealing with some unscrupulous dictators who can at least keep the peace. There will be no peace in the middle east until the people there actually want democracy for themselves, it simply can't be taught to them or forced on them.

I know were talking UK business here but on the subject of migrants and immigration in general we have simply lost our way as nations when we don't promote and push for integration. American immigration in the time of my great grandparents worked because America was a melting pot. My forebears moved here to be Americans not just live in America. The current crop of refugees and immigrants from the Middle East and areas with similar world views don't by and large appear to share this ideal. They want to move here and have their culture respected and promoted. I am all about living in an inclusive society when it comes to different races and world views however we have to really think about what makes a nation. There has to be a mostly shared culture among at least the vast majority of citizens. On the most basic level, we must stand for the same values or I just don't think society can function as it should. The older I get the more my beliefs that all races are equal grows stronger however the way I view multi-multiculturalism has changed since public school originally told me it was a good thing and only racist bigots didn't believe in it.

Yup 1 culture but made up with diversity. How can you have a culture the way it is now.... no one speaks the same language

Many cultures were insulted when they first got into it though. Many wouldn't imagine that the Irish faced a deal of prejudice when they came, but everyone did. I think that the situations are different. I think of the "great" America as a melting pot, I think of most modern countries a finished soup where an additonal bad ingredient can ruin the dish. Add in human rights that were not widely respected in those times and I think you have apples to oranges. I confess I'm not nearly educated on the subject, however.

Quite right. Globalists and multiculturalists have forced it down our throats for the last generation or two that if you don't accept these world views you're a bad person or living in the past. There is a difference between being a racist or a bigot and wanting to live side by side with people who share your ideals and will stand united when times get tough. Doesn't matter what skin color a man has but we need to regain our identity here. I don't want to go off the rails with conspiracy theory but it would seem to me that the agenda of those forcing multiculturalism and globalism is that of centralizing power for a class of political elites to hold on to. As long as they keep nations divided into little groups without clear and united agendas, it will be easy for these figures to maintain control.

The street we just moved from was made up of a mix of families - muslim, sri lankan, spanish/ black and us (italian) i swear the sri lankan family was one of the most patriotic people i have ever met. They still carried on all of their religious beliefs but also adopted all of our american traditions , celebrated all of our hollidays even Christmas and were just damn proud to be here. Our muslim neighbors never took part in any american hollidays (4th of july, memorial day or anything else....hahaha one of their kids even told my son that pork is a dirty food.... not trying to judge pr bash them but why move to a country and not accept its traditions

I don't disagree at all that immigrants weren't treated well in the melting pot era and we shouldn't go back to treating them that way now. But I am quite sure that immigrants in those days wanted to be Americans. They believed in the dream and contributed to this country in every way including learning the language and assimilating into the culture. The great thing about the melting pot is that as different generations and people from different walks of life assimilated in, little pieces of those cultures became part of the American way. We stop being a country when we move towards letting people live here without giving a damn what it means to be American.

The main problem with the voting was people voting for the sole reason of immigration, it's been brainwashing people of the UK now for ages that if we stay in the EU the UK will become full of foreigners, what they fail to realise is that the vast majority of people who come to the UK are not from Europe but from all over the globe , it's been this way in the UK forever lol people will still come EU or not.
The other problem with this vote is people don't even know what the EU is or what it actually means to be in or out of it there just going with what people are saying about imagination.
Two people I spoke to yesterday who voted out didn't have a clue one thought we were no longer a European country , and the other asked me if England were still aloud to play football in the euro competition hahahahahha that's what we're up against people
