I’ll make these guys their own thread since they are inside now.

On 6/19 my female gold and white ryukin spawned with my male black moor. Not a pair I’d intentionally spawn, but they took advantage of spawning material I put in the pond for the koi.
Here they are spawning

The koi were eating all the eggs up so I brought some in. Most fungused over despite efforts to prevent it. But that was expected.
Starting 24hrs ago they started to hatch.
Here are some that hatched overnight.

Just hatched fry

I was able to count over a dozen on the back wall. I’m pretty excited, but trying to not to get my hopes up too high. Hopefully some make it, but this is an all new adventure for me. I’m just happy I didn’t kill all the eggs when moving them inside to my 75g. They have the whole tank to themselves minus the rams horn snails and one nitrite snail.

I’ll be updating and posting more pictures as they grow:)

Cool, what are your feeding plans? Are you gonna use green water?

No. I’ll be bringing in more rock from the pond. It has small worms on it and I’ll feed crushed up pellets. I wasn’t expecting to keep fry so I’m not prepared. But I’ll do what worked for raising the gt fry I’ve had.

Today’s count for fry I can find is over thirty.
Here’s a couple close ups.

The fry are showing two distinct color differences now.

There are not as many yellow ones.

I’m excited to see how these guys will look.
They have also started eating now too.

One week old today. I didn’t think I’d be able to catch many, but in three swipes I netted out 14. Just random, not trying to purposely net anyone.
All spines are straight and looking good. Only the one at the top seemed slow. I put him back in with the others. I won’t cull for a few more weeks. I’ll let nature take its course for now.
