I'd bet that the current pH will be OK for breeding...wouldn't try to lower it...

Maybe some heavy live food for a couple of weeks and an extra big water change will get the over the hump.

Seen any tubes? I have a pair of megasema (aka tapajos 2) that act the same way periodically. Female drops her tube part way but no spawn yet. Of course my pH is about 7.4 ;)

Matt, do you have any photos you could post of the Megasema?

I had a chance to get some of those a while back but never really knew for sure what they looked like as adults. I'm very curious.

Peter, these daemon look amazing. They are really starting to make me want some.

Thats a thing of beauty Pete, I remember a progression thread on theses same fish which obviously stuck in my mind, I hope you have a successful spawn.

Thanks guys! :) I'm going to feel like a big fat failure if they don't spawn, which is very likely to happen...

Thanks :)

Thanks. Took them about 9-10 months to go from 2" to 8". They've slowed down lately.
That seems pretty fast for geos. Just wondering, what was their diet, how many times a day, and water change schedule like?
