Really???? Please explain. Like I said this thread is to help us all learn from our mistakes and will help people learn from it and try new things. I use the air pump method cause that is what Neal used on his first trip down.

Ah hahaha! I remember that car!! Do you still have the radar detector in the front window? :D Awesome story man! Glad you could get some fish to add to your addiction! :D

yes, please explain.

How does an Air-pump increase NH3/NH4 levels?

I personaly feel there should have been more water volume with the larger 3 Tems. but I guess that would have made the weight on the car even worse.

you went to so much trouble it seems like you could run a cycled filter and skip the water changes with a little more trouble on the next run!!! 20/20 hindsight is easy.

great job and tanks for sharing !!!!!!!!!

Those are some nice pickups. Sorry you lost the 3 tems though.

When I transported two rays from Wisconson to Michigan it took me a two day trip and the rays were in coolers for a little over 22 hours and they did fine.

What I did was have the person I was getting them from starve the rays for 4 days to clear out their systems. I think that was the biggest factor in keeping them alive.

So if you do something like this again that is something you might want to try and do.

the fish were starved for 4 Days. Rays are much easier to transport than Cichla. I can say the same as well for other cichlids. Cichla are just big fish that thrash around, need lots of oxygen and are heavy breathers.
