hotfish air cargo is AP to AP shipping.

I'm very sorry for your lost, and believe me, I know exactly how it feels like :( As for insurance, no carrier will insure live tropical fish. UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL doesn't insure live animal. AP to AP insure live animal, but not fish. USPS is not my choice of shipping live animal, since even with their next day service, it's not guaranteed to deliver on or before 10:30 am, so there's a chance your precious live animal will sit in a non-air-control cargo for quite a long time. I'm not criticizing you. I just want to share some information that will be helpful next time when you pick a shipping carrier.

Just talk to claim where USPS were. Said "Sorry sir, we only insured with lost or damage item"

i was like WTF!!! "the box was destroy, 2 dead fish worth over $700 you telling me i can't claim and get my money back? what about the insured with purchase? If you do not insured me why offer insured? Im not taking any no answer on this"

USPS
"Sorry sir only claim for lost item only, CLICK! hang up on me"

Yo dude so thats it?Did you call back?Man that suck bro

That's a damn shame Sticky. Were they sedated at all? That might be a key in shipping spiny-finned fish like larger dats. I've heard so many horror stories about receiving dead dats that it seems like they might need the "big piranha" treatment to get them saely shipped.

sorry to hear bro. 2 more dats gone from USA. very sad!!

The seller should be offering you live arrival on fish that expensive. Never trust the Shipping companies. Fish that large especially dats should be shipped in coolers IMO and never overnight. If they do not break the bag, they will usually run out of oxygen before they make the overnight trip.
