Salmon in the Classroom

On my conference hour and realized I forgot my camera today. It'll have to wait till tomorrow. About 25 have hatched so far. Looking good still.

Who determines what an "invasive" species is vs. an "introduced" species?

The Chinook was introduced to control the alewifes. I think invasive are species brought to Great Lakes by freighters in their ballast water and introduced are those introduced by the DNR.

The kings and silvers (chinook and coho) introduced there are also super popular game fish that pump money into the state from tourist and lincense sales.
 
Here are the new pictures. Lost three more eggs the past two days. The kids are quick to point them out.
