Saltwater

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You think 75 has everything I will need?

I wouldn't touch that 75. That thing comes with a niger trigger and a blue tang. Two fish that are going to need a serious upgrade. Plus your going to need more live rock. I like to start fresh with cause I like to control everything that goes into the tank. Im going to be upgrading my 10 gal for a 40B reef and the only thing I am buying used is the tank. I would pick up a used 75, buy the heater, powerheads, and rock new. It is your choice wether you want filters or not, a lot of people use sumps. But you can run a salt tank with HOB filters, that is what i'm running mine with. Your also going to want to pick up a salt test kit. Are you wanting to go fish only or reef?

Well if you’re willing to save for a bit longer then you could go with a 110 nice they’re the same foot print as a 75, just much higher. It’s pointless for someone that has space but for someone that only has a certain amount of space it’s a good one.

A 110 is 48 x 18 x 30
If you have space to expand the width then I’d go for a 120 which is 48 x 24 x 25

I want reef...

So used tank.
Power heads (2, 1 on each side)
Heater
Lights
Live rock
Sand
Fish
And coral?

Also my main wanted fish is clown fish :P

So how does this sound?

55 or 75 gallon tank

Live rock

Coral

Heater

Light bar

1 Powerhead on both sides

1 pair of clown fish

Star fish

Shrimp

And some other fish

Also how would I make saltwater?

How would you make saltwater? You get freshwater, you get saltwater mix, you get a refractometor, you mix the salt into the water until you get it to the correct salinity.

Ok.

I honestly thought I had to buy like some sort of bottles of saltwater
